CARD OF THE MONTH – HERMIT
When people pick the Hermit card they often groan and moan about being alone and lonely. Perhaps, but this archetype can be a prosperous kind. In the Hermit, you see the introspective Hermit go to the inner cave (below the Mayan Sage sculpture) and take the inner gifts (see the gold and sun within the cave) into the outer world to create a harvest of success (see all the wheat on the right side of the card). The Hermit is a perfect example of a person who taps their inner human resources to be professionally self-sufficient and abundant. Utilizing the number 9 Minor cards, the Hermit is focused (9 of Crystals), integrated (9 of Wands) and finds fulfillment in the process (9 of Cups) to manifest a harvest (9 of Worlds). Inside of you are all the talents of the Major Archetypes that you need to be a success. Use the tarot as a means of tapping these resources. Do the "Archetypes of Success" Reading, says the Hermit. ...
READING OF THE MONTH: "ARCHETYPES OF SUCCESS"
For the whole month of May, I was working with Voyager and intuition in the Netherlands. Much of my agenda has been introducing Voyager into the workplace. The Deck is a great tool for business in this changing, complex, diversifying world because it utilizes the genius of intuition, is always insightful, innovative and inspiring, and offers a map and formula for success.
My message has been that the number one resource for success in business and in your work is YOU! Your most important asset is not money, it's not connections, it's not good luck (though these are obviously important), it's about bringing out all of you! What do we mean by "all of you?" Look at the 22 Major Archetype cards. These universal principles of life represent the essential qualities for making a successful living and which we all have within us. My "Strategic Intuition for the 21st Century" book translates these Major cards into their business applications. For example, the Magician is the sales champion and marketing genius.
Look at these Archetypes as a personal checklist for you to understand who you are at work and which ones you need to develop within you. Then place the cards facedown and pick one to see what to work on.
In this day and age, whether you're in a corporation or in any kind of endeavor, success at work comes down to you. You are the business. I call it "YouBiz." By activating all parts of yourself, from the "quality controller" Hermit to the entrepreneurial Fortune Maker, you are fulfilling the necessary requisites for the business of living.
Tarot is all about who we are as a person. It's basic philosophy of life is that "success is an inside job." Indeed. And Voyager, especially, also offers a tool for strategic thinking and business planning. Look at the 14 Worlds cards and they give you the essential processes for success. Determine face up which quality (card) you think you need to do in your work. Then place the cards facedown and see what you get.
Of course, the absolute key to this process is taking action on the card insights you receive. The map, itself, gets you nowhere. Do the "doable action" that you intuit as your next step. As I always say, "See it, Feel it, Believe it, Invoke it, and Do it!" – the Magician's mantra that works.
