|| Politics: Tuesday is Election Day! Please Vote!|
Paul Burns, Executive Director,VPIRG |
As I'm sure you know, Tuesday is Election Day. We have heard a lot from the candidates about their ideas on how to tackle the critical issues facing Vermont and I want to encourage you to get to the polls and cast your vote.

While VPIRG is non-partisan and doesn’t endorse or oppose candidates, we are always working to increase voter participation in our state. Voting is the best tool we have to ensure the voices of Vermonters are heard by our officials; one that I hope every Vermonter takes advantage of this Tuesday.
We are excited to welcome our newly elected officials, including a new governor, as we continue our work to retire Vermont Yankee safely in 2012, push for a better energy future, ensure universal, affordable health care, and protect the environment in which we live in. ...
Whatever issues are most important to you, I hope that you'll take this opportunity to make your voice heard. If you don't know where your polling location is, or when it is open, you can find out here:
See you at the polls!
Paul and the VPIRG team
P.S. We encourage you to vote Yes on the amendment this year to allow young men and women who will be 18 years old on or before the general election in November to vote in that election’s primary.
P.P.S If you are interested to see how your incumbent candidates voted on key issues in the last two years, you can view VPIRG’s Legislative Scorecard here: http://www.vpirg.org/2010scorecard
