“If a man has an apartment stacked to the ceiling with newspapers we call him crazy. If a woman has a trailer house full of cats we call her nuts. But when people pathologically hoard so much cash that they impoverish the entire nation, we put them on the cover of Fortune magazine and pretend that they are role models.”

 Canadian Niagara - 2005

TravelHere's a few pics from this year's Canadian Trip. Maybe next year we'll have an "AlienLove Fest". All members could meet somewhere ... wouldn't that be awesome!

We've visited Niagara Falls before, but each time we go it seems to get better and we find more things to do. If you're alone, with your love, or with the whole family, you'll never run out of things to do and see.

On this trip there was FrogDaddy, Blue1moon and Alby. Alby is 7 years old, his wish was to stay in a tall building ... you know, the kind Spiderman swings between. We live in a rural area, and I don't think he's ever seen or been inside tall buildings before. This is a view from the Skylon Tower ... Al just loved it! ... and so did Blue1Moon and I :-). You're looking at the "Canadian Horseshoe Falls" and it's just spectacular.

In the picture above, if you look closely in the water, there is a boat named the "Maid of the Mist". You can take a ride right into the mist at the bottom of the Falls ... of course rain coats are standard gear and you can expect to get drenched. Below is a close up.

Across, on the other side of the Niagara River, looking towards Buffalo NY, is the American Falls. Equally impressive. The Upper and Lower Niagara River are also in the picture.

If you adventure down the river a bit further, there are several nature walks you can take. We took the "White Water Walk" ... you enter a building, take an elevator down and come out into a tunnel, walk to the end of the tunnel and there you are at some of the roughest river rapids I've ever seen. I mean this is tough stuff. You walk walk along the river for about 1/2 a mile, with several lovely spots to stop along the way.

There is so much to see, you just can't do it all at once. Going back from the Falls and into town a bit, there are lots of Hotels, Casino's and places for kids. The streets are basically spotless and maintained to the utmost. As we walked back from the Falls, I turned and clicked a quick pic of the Skylon Tower that Alby loved so much.

There was also a tightrope walker who was 68 years old walking between the Casinos and other tall buildings in town! I've added a small circular cutout of a closeup.

Just outside of town ... if you like to walk, and it is a nice walk, there is a Huge Buddhist Temple. They've been building it for years, and each time we go to Niagara, we stop by to see what's been completed. Here's a few pics of some of the sculpture.

Further yet downtown is an entire section devoted to kids of all ages. Here Alby wanted to go into a place called "Frankenstiens House" I told him it was scary .... but he wanted to go. It was scary! As we left, he was in such a hurry to get out of there, that I didn't have time to get a good pic :-) ... as he pulled me down the street I managed to crank off just one.

Another cool spot was the Dinosaur Mini Golf!

Here's a pic of Blue1moon, Alby and FrogDaddy early in the morning heading to the tunnels that lead behind Horseshoe Falls.

There are lots of ancient Indian tales about the Falls, and so much more to tell ... but I don't want to tell you all ... go and see it for yourself, or maybe next year AlienLove will have a members only weekend!

FrogDaddy tells Alby some historical facts about the traditional Iroquoian territory.

Note: photos inside! Also: Our last trip
