“If a man has an apartment stacked to the ceiling with newspapers we call him crazy. If a woman has a trailer house full of cats we call her nuts. But when people pathologically hoard so much cash that they impoverish the entire nation, we put them on the cover of Fortune magazine and pretend that they are role models.”

My new show is called "Just Because". To listen click here and press the "listen/ear" button.

So what is progressive music and what is DRS Records? Prog is the evolution of 60's pop and rock into a higher form of music recorded mostly in the UK during the early 70's. Here are the main aspects of prog.

Announcements: From Conquest To Community, From Violence To Reverence:

SpiritualityAn Interfaith Fast

By The Shalom Center
www.interfaithfast.org/September 2007

Dear Friends,

Since a few days after the Virginia Tech mass murders, The Shalom Center has been working with others in the religious community toward a broadly multi-religious Call for a nationwide fast day on October 8 to help Americans move away from the policies and practices of violence, at home and overseas. This work crystallized in two approaches one focused on ending the war in Iraq, the other on challenging the entire culture of violence that is honeycombing our society. The laser-beam focus on the war was preferred and adopted by a number of major leaders and institutions of American religious life, and is going out to many others as well. It follows.

Below, after the text of the statement itself, you will find a list of the initiating signers, both individuals and organizations. WE SEEK YOUR SUPPORT AS WELL. We ask you to invite your own congregation, community, or organization to join in this Call and this process. We invite you to begin with your own community the learning and planning described below, leading up to and beyond the fast of October 8. ...

Announcements: No War, No Warming, Rise Up!

EnvironmentBy Ted Glick
t r u t h o u t | Perspective

For months a movement has been developing that consciously and intentionally links the related issues of the war in Iraq and the heating up of the earth that is disrupting the world's climate. On Monday morning, October 22, in Washington, DC, on Capitol Hill and elsewhere around the country, that movement will become visible as large numbers of people engage in nonviolent direct action to disrupt business as usual. We will be calling for an end to this criminal war and strong action to slow, stop and reverse global warming.

These issues are connected, of course, by oil. Everyone who's got their head screwed on straight knows that the reason for the invasion of Iraq was oil. The US government is occupying Iraq both for its oil and to try to turn it into a US-friendly military base from which it can better control the entire region.

Why? It's not just because Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Wolfowitz and the neocons are motivated by we're-the-rulers-of-the-world ideology. There is actually a perverse logic to what they're doing, particularly given their personal connections to the oil industry. ....

Announcements: Come to Montpelier on Tuesday to Make Impeachment Happen in Vermont

All Vermonters are asked to come to the state capital on Tuesday, April 17, to demand passage of a resolution to petition the U.S. House to begin impeachment proceedings against Bush and Cheney.

Vermonters should gather at the statehouse cafeteria in Montpelier at 10am. At 10:30 or so, we will go as a group into the Senate chamber spectators' gallery, where we will quite likely outnumber the Senators. When the Senate breaks for lunch, we will all be lobbying Senators and House members, specifically those in the Judiciary Committee. Some of those coming are trying to get appointments with various reps in the afternoon, and folks may go into the House Chamber in the afternoon. Some people have talked about occupying offices...
